Lynx Yachts unveils new Adventure 32

By Russell Cockerton

Ahead of the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show, Dutch builder Lynx Yachts has unveiled its new explorer-styled Adventure 32, a yacht Lynx credits as ‘an excellent sea-keeping vessel with uncompromising style and comfort’.

For those unfamiliar with Lynx Yachts, the Nijkerk-based builder is known for its popular Yacht X-Tender (YXT) range, a smaller support vessel with limited guest accommodation. However, the new Adventure 32 is the first in the Adventure series and marks Lynx’s evolution into explorer-styled vessels – a decision Lynx claims is down to the market’s growing appetite for long-distance displacement vessels.

At 32.2m the Adventure 32 is an entry-level vessel characterised by a vertical plumb stem bow, high-bulwark and utilitarian wheelhouse. Penned by Bernd Weel Design, in conjunction with naval architect Diana Yachts, the steel-hulled vessel will have an estimated displacement (at full load) of c. 180 tonnes, similar to the gross-tonnage which also falls under the 200gt threshold.

Stab the throttle and twin CAT C18s summon 2000hp to propel the vessel to a top speed of 15 knots and, at a conservative 11 knots, a range of 2,700 nautical miles.

When tenders and toys are launched from the versatile aft deck, the stern becomes an extensive and generously-proportioned beach club. Aboard outdoor terraces are extensive and practical; featuring al-fresco entertainment space and indoor/outdoor lounge, the upper deck is a well-thought-through social-arrangement and will, no doubt, be a popular element of the yacht.

Depending on the client’s requirements the arrangement of guest accommodation can be organised in two layouts, either providing accommodation for eight guests and eight crew or 10 guests and 10 crew. Regardless, the magic 1:1 guest to crew ratio is maintained and enforces the Adventure’s graduation into the entry-level superyacht sphere.
