Performance Yachts offers a uniquely fresh and exciting concept in personalised yacht design and build.
Built using the most advanced lightweight materials, they incorporate the latest state-of-the-art equipment throughout and with accommodation featuring customised décor by leading interior design specialists, no expense has been spared and no detail overlooked in the quest to provide the ultimate blend of performance, style and comfort. And yet because Performance Yachts has none of the high marketing and administrative overheads incurred by the larger production brands, and thanks also to exclusive arrangements with builders and suppliers, it is possible to deliver the PY range with state-of-the art equipment and the benefit of extended warranties and support at prices that reflect the true cost of building boats.
Performance Yachts adds value for its clients; with the yachts having very high specifications as standard and, in the case of yachts like the new PY-100, designs and tooling that are already in place. This considerably reduces the lead times normally associated with semi custom builds but retains the ability for owners to personalise their individual boats.
The Performance Yachts range, which currently extends to 38 meters, includes the PY-65, PY-75, PY-82, PY-100 and the PY-122, are all designed by the award winning team at Dixon Yacht Design and headed by top international designer Bill Dixon. Individual boats are finished to clients’ own detailed individual requirements, the PY range combines impressive high end cruising performance with five-star luxury below decks.
Performance Yachts enjoyed a spectacularly successful launch when, in its maiden race, the first PY65 ‘Liara’ won the racing division of the trans-Atlantic ARC race, going on to follow this up with impressive performances in Antigua Race Week.
Built primarily as a comfortable cruising yacht, with lifting keel and true super yacht proportioned interior, the first Performance Yachts 100 is currently in build in New Zealand and on target to be launched this year. With the hull and deck comprising of approximately 85% Carbon and other features, which include a carbon rig and PBO rigging, she is also likely to be successful on the worlds racing circuits.
The expectation of excellent performance has been reinforced, in the most demanding conditions, by the build yards recent success in winning the Transat Ecover B2B race with “Gitana Eighty”, and in the Barcelona World race where their Open 60 “Paprec Virbac 2”, skippered by Jean-Pierre Dick and Damian Foxall took first place. In fact the yards success extended to 3 of the first 4 boats home in the Barcelona World Race demonstrating, not only their world leading skills with composite construction and integrity of build, but their ability to build fast and reliable boats.
